Re: Bass Guitar?

EOF is installed. Solution : sudo apt-get install build-essential sudo apt-get install liballegro4.2-dev Those items get built as per the Linux build instructions I put together: https://github.com/raynebc/editor-on-fire/blob/wiki/Building_EOF_in_Linux.md The only Linux flavor I've tested EOF in is...

Re: Bass Guitar?

If the game doesn't let you select a bass part to play, the chart probably doesn't have that instrument authored.

Re: Bass Guitar?

You can as long as you select a chart that has that part authored.

Re: EOF 1.8RC12 - Now with Rocksmith 2014 support

You will have no choice but to delete the stored tempo map (Song>Manage raw MIDI tracks) if you want to export with your altered tempo map. The reason the feature exists was so that it was possible to author pro guitar upgrades for official Rock Band charts that use mid-beat tempo changes or time si...

Re: EOF 1.8RC12 - Now with Rocksmith 2014 support

Assuming your computer would run anything without problems is risky. Problems could be seen if your computer's graphics card had poor OpenGL performance, or if it had a slow core speed (since EOF is single threaded and can't use more than one core). Try closing all other applications to rule out iss...

Re: EOF 1.8RC12 - Now with Rocksmith 2014 support

The focus of EOF is authoring with mouse/keyboard, so it should be expected they have those handy. Worst case scenario, srylain could prompt the user to press a key/button on whichever controller the author wanted to test the chart with.

Re: EOF 1.8RC12 - Now with Rocksmith 2014 support

Does Clone Hero support any command line parameters to directly launch and immediately play a specific chart difficulty of a file? Even then, it would have to convert the MIDI file to a Feedback file, and there are some bugs/limitations with the converter as I understand it.

Re: EOF 1.8RC12 - Now with Rocksmith 2014 support

CAT might not check whether there is a text event and a lyric at the same time. In EOF, you could go into the vocal track, open "Beat>Events>All Events", filter to just show the vocal track's events and then delete all the text events, which would involve clicking the delete button about 2...

Re: EOF 1.8RC12 - Now with Rocksmith 2014 support

Maybe to the effect of slowing down at the end of a song, but it's better to not make things harder than they have to be. Like when people compose music with nonstandard time signatures. Edit: Back to the original request, I can consider a preference to discard mid-beat tempo changes encountered dur...

Re: EOF 1.8RC12 - Now with Rocksmith 2014 support

It's worth trying my suggestion then. Would be nice if they used better authoring practices in this regard.

Re: EOF 1.8RC12 - Now with Rocksmith 2014 support

If you're importing it for the purpose of adding a pro guitar upgrade or something, you can try to have EOF store the original MIDI's tempo track into the project. That way, when EOF saves your edits, the original tempo map is used and all notes/events/etc. are written to MIDI reflecting that tempo ...

Re: EOF 1.8RC12 - Now with Rocksmith 2014 support

Just Feedback for now, since I found some authors were prone to authoring this way in the Feedback editor. Properly made Rock Band MIDIs probably won't be doing this sort of thing. Which file imports are you talking about though?

Re: EOF 1.8RC12 - Now with Rocksmith 2014 support

Since EOF is recognizing the notation from the MIDI I'm inclined to think it's a Clone Hero issue. If srylain or anybody else can show that EOF's MIDI notation is incorrect, I'll look into it some more.

Re: EOF 1.8RC12 - Now with Rocksmith 2014 support

In both of those cases, if you import the MIDI back into EOF, does it show the correct HOPO notation? If so, it could be a bug with Clone Hero instead of EOF.
