Tutorial: How to make a big rock ending!

Postby motorhead14 » Wed Apr 08, 2009 4:07 pm

NOTE: This tutorial will only work for guitar charts, if you do this using a drum chart and keeping the original notes, it'll make a drum fill

Things you'll need
    1. FL Studio
    2. Your finished notes of course

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
(this will work better when you have your notes finished already)

1. Import your notes into FL Studio

2. Go to C10, (it's inside the red box shown in this photo)
Image
The notes were random so don't guess the song

3. To add notes to FL, left click a box. But it must be within the C10 range, you need to make 5 notes. To resize the notes, drag your mouse to the end of the note, you will then see a little black arrow, click and drag to extend the note. See image below
Image

4. Now delete the other notes the big rock ending is in, remember to leave your ending.

5. Now export your project as a midi, name the midi "notes" without the quotes, and delete your old notes from your song and replace with your new ones.

That's it! It's really quite simple. If you're still having problems just post them here and i will answer them

if you use EOF the feature is built in. So you could just take a chart and throw it in there to add them pretty easily.

Yes it worked, and I know that EOF as this but I usually use midi fretting

I just that I'd mention that for people who use EOF to fret songs, like myself.

This exact process also won't work on drums. It will only make a drum fill, to make it a BRE you have to add an event (or section) at the beginning of the part you want to be a BRE and name it "big_rock_ending" minus the quotes.

I noticed that it didn't work on drums so I used EOF for that

To do them for drums you have to use a text event. These aren't supported in FL as far as I know.

EoF's the best way to do it.

If I write up a tutorial for EoF. Would you add it here?

I'll consider using it for later songs, but I'll use Anvil studio instead of FL since FL removes section data.

I tried in anvil, but you can't go that high.

Just wondering... Could you make half-BRE by only making 3 notes to C10 and leaving the other 2 empty?

That wouldn't work, it'll create a broken midi or maybe even crash the game, but thats all. I'm pretty sure it wouldn't work

I just tried it and the bre just doesn't show up in game. It doesn't crash the game or anything though.
