NinjAstar Hero: (Pending Title)

Postby NinjAstar » Thu Nov 13, 2008 7:16 pm

This is a new project I've recently started to work on. It's a large setlist made in the way of Guitar Hero or FOF Hero setlists. I'm quite new to fretting, so I hope this project will gain me some recognition (cause honestly I think im one of the better fretters of the forum)

The song list is a large one, with 5 songs + Encore. With 10 Bonus songs and 5 Hidden songs. It starts out with incredibly easy songs, but some of the later songs can be ridiculously tough. (Except for Extreme players like moepOOO, Elodius, Puppetz, Amon Amarth, Maartah, Kotti, and some others ive seen.) All songs will be only Expert.

ALL the songs in the setlist are either completely new or previously fretted poorly. There are also 3 GH songs in here. 2 are being refretted since the GH covers changed the song, and the other one is being refretted since the chart from GH was horrible. In my opinion most should be fun to play (to be honest the only boring one so far it seems is Wild Side)

Also, all the songs are audio enhanced in Audacity, I made the song quality better, the volume the same for all the songs, and made fade out endings louder until very near the end (helpful on songs that fade out early with 30 seconds of very quiet playing)

Some songs will have drum tracks, these songs are marked in this color. Thanks to all the people who are charting drums for some of the songs.

Main Setlist:
Tier 1: Newbie Setlist
Stages - ZZ Top, 1985 (Finished)
Janie Jones - The Clash, 1977 (Finished) (Drums by Kermit4Prez)
I Was Made For Lovin' You - KISS, 1979 (Finished) (previously fretted by someone, but poorly)
God Save The Queen - The Sex Pistols, 1977
Living After Midnight - Judas Priest, 1980
Encore: Nobody's Fool - Kenny Loggins, 1988

Tier 2: Classic Warm-ups
The Price - Twisted Sister, 1984
Fight For Your Right - Beastie Boys, 1987 (Scorehero frettings were bad)
Foxy Lady - Jimi Hendrix, 1967 (Horrible charts until I decided to do this)
Concrete And Steel - ZZ Top, 1990
86 - Green Day, 1995 (One of the underrated but awesome songs from Insomniac)
Encore: Movin' On - Bad Company, 1974 (Many 3-note and 4-note chords)

Tier 3: Moderate Riffs
Be Good To Yourself - Journey, 1986 (Finished) (My favorite Journey song!)
I'd Die For You - Bon Jovi, 1986 (Finished)
Sign Of The Times - Quiet Riot, 1984
Gypsy Road - Cinderella, 1988 (Varied and addictive, this one should be great)
Magic Man - Heart, 1976 (There's only a bad freetar fretting of this right now)
Encore: Blue Highway - Billy Idol, 1983

Tier 4: Faster Fretwork
Action! Not Words - Def Leppard, 1983
Feel Your Love Tonight - Van Halen, 1978 (Finished)
Fallen Angel - Poison, 1988
Take The Power Back - Rage Against The Machine, 1992
Feels Like The First Time - Foreigner, 1977
Encore: Pride - Living Colour, 1990

Tier 5: Intense Solos
Desire - Ozzy Osbourne, 1991 (Previously fretted only on Hard, not Expert)
Wanted Man - Ratt, 1984 (Finished) (Drums by Anthman852)
Don't Believe Her - Scorpions, 1990
Think About You - Guns N' Roses, 1987
Lost - Avenged Sevenfold, 2007 (In the A7X hero, but Im sure my fretting will be better)
Encore: Black Curtains - Megadeth, 1994 (Cool song from Youthanasia!)

Tier 6: Mastering Endurance
Psycho Love - Skid Row, 1991 (Many chords and an awesome solo!!)
Camel's Night Out - Eric Johnson, 1996 (Soft guitar melodies with some short but fast solos)
I Am The Law - Anthrax, 1987 (Some fast strumming half way through the song) (WIP)
Jawbreaker - Judas Priest, 1984 (Previously fretted poorly)
Blackout - Scorpions, 1982
Encore: Sea Of Madness - Iron Maiden, 1986

Tier 7: Insane Shredding
Kiss Of Death - Dokken, 1987 (A showcase of George Lynch's abilites )
Play With Me - Extreme, 1989 (GH made a lot of changes in their cover, and the original version is amazing)
Lay Down Your Love - Whitesnake, 2008 (Awesome song with great guitar from Reb Beach )
Born Of Fire - Slayer, 1990 (Finished)
Girl Gone Bad - Van Halen, 1984
Encore: Do You Know What You Are Fighting For? - Helloween, 2005 (A lengthy and difficult solo on this song)

Tier 8: Legendary Skillz
I Speed At Night - Dio, 1984 (Really Fast :scared:)
Mistress Of Pain - Death Angel, 1987
Dangerous Love - Racer X, 1986
Last Rites/Loved To Deth - Megadeth, 1985 (Finished)
Guitar Battle: Tom Scholz Guitar Solo/This Time/Guitar Solo 2 - Tom Scholz/Boston, 1979 (You only play Tom's guitar parts, so during This Time and Guitar Solo 2 you don't play Barry's sections)
Final Encore: Walk On Medley - Boston, 1994 (12 minutes of difficult licks and insane solos!!!)

Bonus: (Extras)
Six Pack - Black Flag, 1981 (Hardcore Punk Rock at its best!)
Big Shot - Billy Joel, 1978 (Awesome main riff on this song, one of Billy's best)
Wild Side - Motley Crue, 1987 (Finished) (Many chords, kinda boring ^^)
Into The Fire - Dokken, 1984 (One of my favorites from Tooth And Nail)
Heavy Metal - Sammy Hagar, 1981
Can't Take That Away (Live) - Peter Frampton, 1995 (10 minutes of live Frampton!)
Surrounded - Dream Theater, 1992
Madalaine - Winger, 1988
The Skull Beneath My Skin - Megadeth, 1985 (Strange song, but varied sections and BPM)
Armoured Assault - Evile, 2007 (Like any Evile song, its FAST)

Hidden Songs: (Extreme Solos)
In My Dreams - Dokken, 1985 (3 Dokken songs!)
Killer Girls - Quiet Riot, 1978 (3 awesome Rhoads solos!)
Children Of The Night - Whitesnake, 1987 (Some of the fastest 2-note trills ever in the solo!)
Screaming Symphony [Live] - Impellitteri, 1997 (One of Impellitteri's fastest songs. It includes a couple pieces from songs off of the Screaming Symphony album and combines them to make one extreme song)

I think thats the one I actually have. The acoustic riff was actually ok in your fretting.

But like my frettings at least close to perfect, if there not then I don't have as much fun playing. ^^

Hope you 2 Puppetz, or Anthman, may want to try out at least one of the preview songs. Ive never gotten a lot of feedback on my chartings, so long time fretters like you guys would be a great help.

EDIT: Added Wanted Man to the preview list.

Lol, thats how its spelled on the "Ultimate Experience" album. I thought it might be wrong, so I'll change it. I'm glad you like the setlist.

Also, Lie by Dream Theater is almost finished. I love playing the first solo, I even found there are 2 96th notes in the first solo. Though its not hard since the song has 94-95 BPM throughout the first half of the song.

EDIT: Done some rearranging in the setlist order, and the bonus song Top Jimmy by Van Halen was changed to another song off Van Halen's 1984 album, Girl Gone Bad.

Brilliant song list. Not my favorite Extreme song, but still a classic. If I find the time, I'll convert some of those guitar pro tabs for you (unless you already got them).
(I like the fact that just about every setlist I've seen so far has had Megadeth [my fave band])

Hah, you need Megadeth in your Hero setlists! Even if people are running out of their really good songs to chart, theres always a Megadeth song thats going to be really fun to play in FoF. And with "Loved To Deth" having a similar Verse riff as "Poison Was The Cure" along with a Slayer-like solo, its gonna be tough.

Play With Me is my favorite Extreme song, and I was dissapointed how changes were made in the GH Cover to make it easier. Yet I only have a "Best Of" album of Extreme, which focuses on more of their Grunge and ballad songs, not their Heavy Metal songs mostly found from their first and second CD.

I have the whole discography (He-Man Woman Hater is one of my fave songs by them btw). I was very disappointed with the vocals for GH's Play With Me (especially the opening). I don't hate all of the GH covers, but this is one of the ones I do.

If you manage to pull this off properly, I'm sure it'll get you the recognition you deserve! You seem to put a lot of effort in it, so I'll be sure to give it a try.
and btw, list Kotti NOW, he's the best player here :cursing:
