I recently got a new idea which seems kinda interesting, especially taken into consideration what its potential uses can be. What it involves is that the songlist gets an extra display per song where it shows what your record is concerning the amount of % you have on every one of the song's individual solos.
Basically it scans a song's notes file for the amount of solos, when the player finishes a solo section the resulting % will be saved. If that same solo section is finished again at a later playthrough and the player gets a higher % that will overwrite the previous, giving the player an overview of what solos of a song he/she is yet to FC, which one are already FC-ed and which ones are performed poorly on. Example 1 shows what this overview would look like.
Upon highlighting a song the player can cycle through the solos in the overview for that particular song, bringing up a window with a detailed overview.
A second part I had with this idea would be an adjustment in the score charts in which the game uploads the % of a solo to a score chart, so that not only the player can set a personal record, but also has the possibility to potentially set a world record on a solo's %. The game can then also fetch % data from that same score chart (maybe load it into cache upon startup?) and weigh a personal best against the world's best, therefore boosting the competitive aspect even more!
A player can see where he/she stands and, once this would be used for quite a while, see in the blink of an eye what solos have been FC-ed worldwide and which ones haven't, allowing people to choose more easily for what solo they want to get an FC for (once again, the competitive element). A clearer view on what this would look like can be seen in Examples 2 and 3.
It can go many ways from here, like checking who was the first to FC a solo worldwide, making the game able to single out what songs you haven't yet FC-ed all solos on and which ones etc.
How good it could turn out I will leave to you all to judge on, I personally think it makes a very fun addition to the competitive aspect and is pretty useful at the same time. So, any input?
