After about 8 weeks of development EOF v1.0 is finally ready. Here are the links:

*Updated to v1.03 on 3/30/2008*

Project Website
Download Link (v1.03)
Download v1.0x->v1.03 Update Link
MediaFire Link (v1.03)
MediaFire v1.0x->v1.03 Update Link

Here are the changes since the last beta release (v0.996):

1.03:

Rewrote range select algorithm. Should fix all bugs related to range select and copy/paste.

Fixed HOPO notes not being recalculated after a paste operation.

1.02:

Added ability to seek to previous/next beat. Hold Alt while pressing Left or Right to seek to the previous or next beat respectively.

Added ability to seek to a specific beat by right clicking the top of the beat marker.

Fixed bug where note length couldn't be changed when certain grid snap settings were selected.

Fixed some minor rendering issues where the AV delay setting wasn't being accounted for.

1.01:

Fixed bug that was causing note range select to malfunction sometimes.

1.0:

Added scroll bar to editor pane. Now you can quickly navigate through a song.

Added new control types (Guitar Tap and Guitar Strum).

Improved information pane.

Added keys to change length of notes (for people without mouse wheel). Use the
'[' and ']' keys to shorten and lengthen notes respectively.

Added ability to make smaller changes to note length by holding Control while
changing the length. Does not have an effect in snap modes.

Window title is now properly updated when importing a MIDI.

Added user manual and tutorial to the package and linked to them from the Help
menu.

Updated quick keys dialog ("Help->Keys").

Fixed memory leaks when loading and/or creating more than one song in a single
EOF session.

Fixed MIDI export note velocity bug.

Fixed note length snap for 1/12, 1/24, and 1/48 notes.

Fixed snap menu not updating when using snap mode shortcut keys.

Fixed information pane not showing correct snap mode.

Fixed bug when linking to FOF when Windows UI features are disabled.

Fixed bug when cancelling New or Load operations which messed up the window
title.

Fixed bug with pen note length where the length was not being displayed
correctly.

Fixed bug with new notes not always being selected as they should be.

Here is the old thread if you need to check on the previous changes. There is also a complete history of updates included in the download package ("history.txt").

Please post your comments, suggestions, and bug reports in this thread. This most likely will not be the last version of EOF but aside from bug fixes the release schedule will probably be a bit more relaxed.

I would like to thank everyone who participated in the feedback and testing phase of development. You all really helped make this program what it is and I appreciate your help. If you participated and your name is not listed in the credits section of the manual please let me know so I can update it. I tried to get everyone's names but there were a lot of you and I might have missed someone.

this has become a very good program, I won't be using it because i have almost stoped to make songs, but its a very easy to use program for beginers, and also good for advanced song makers.
And it would be good if you added the tutorial and stuff in the wiki.

When you select "Save" from the menu EOF will save these files:

"notes.eof"
"notes.mid"
"song.ini"

If all of these files and "guitar.ogg" aren't in your saved song folder there is some kind of problem.

If you aren't using the latest version my only recommendation is going to be download 1.0 and try it. If you still have problems I will need more information from you to try and determine what the problem is.

Thanks a lot for this.

Would you mind telling us what EOF stands for? My guess would be "Editor on Fire" but that makes no sense.

Memes are so funny hahaha I'm splitting with laughter I can't control this laughter at this meme which uses a word incorrectly oh hahaha

:glare:

That was EPIC.

My songs. All made in EOF, beat-synced and note-synced, not very many missed notes.

I thought Editor on Fire... but it does make sense, since FOF's built-in song editor (which is could also be called Editor on Fire) is... well, poor unless you know how to use it like it's your right hand or somethin'.

~First bug report im afraid.
The 'select a range' of notes isnt working properly (it was in previous versions)
If i select a note, then hold shift and select another note, it selects ALL notes until the end of the song.

There doesnt appear to be a way to select a short set of notes.

It doesn't stand for anything. I just replaced the 'F' in FOF with an 'E' to signify that it is an editor. The logical conclusion is that EOF stands for "Editor On Fire" so your guess is right.

I will post a bugfix shortly.

Edit: Range select appears to be working for me. I am going to dig deeper and see if I can find what causes the problem.
